Overview
QuickQR ("the app", "we") is an offline-first QR code scanner and generator for Android, published by Benimad. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. The short version: QuickQR does not collect, store on servers, or share any of your personal data. Everything you scan or create stays on your device.
Data we do NOT collect
- No account, sign-up, or login of any kind.
- Scanned QR codes, generated QR codes, history and favorites are stored only in local storage on your device and are never uploaded anywhere.
- No analytics, tracking, or profiling by the app itself.
- Camera frames are processed on-device in real time for QR detection and are never recorded, saved, or transmitted.
- Images you open from your gallery are analyzed on-device only.
Permissions we request and why
- Camera — used exclusively to scan QR codes in real time. Nothing is recorded or stored.
- Vibration — haptic feedback on a successful scan (can be turned off in Settings).
- Photos / media access (via the system photo picker) — only when you choose "Scan from gallery" or save a generated QR image. The app can only access the photos you explicitly select.
- Internet — used only by Google AdMob to display ads (see below). All app features work fully offline.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
QuickQR shows ads served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service provided by Google. AdMob may collect and process certain data on its own behalf to serve and measure ads, such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, coarse location, and ad interaction data. This collection is governed by Google's policies, not by us:
You can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization at any time in your device's Settings → Google → Ads.
Data safety summary (Google Play)
- Data collected by the app itself: none.
- Data shared with third parties by the app itself: none.
- Third-party SDK (AdMob) may collect device identifiers for advertising, as described above.
- All user content (history, favorites, settings) is stored locally and is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
Children
QuickQR is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Ads are served through Google AdMob in accordance with Google's advertising policies.
Security
Since your data never leaves your device, the main safeguard is your device itself. You can erase all app data at any time via Settings → Clear scan history inside the app, or by clearing the app's storage / uninstalling it from Android settings.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above before the change takes effect.
